Work stress can make your life miserable. Don’t think of it as a minor issue as stress can lead to a broad variety of physical and mental symptoms.

Job Stress can cause headaches, high blood pressure, stomach problems, eating too much or too little and impaired immunity. Moreover, it can also have some prolonged, long term effects such as triggering sadness, crying spells, anger, irritability and depression. It can cause conflicts with others and lead to social withdrawal.
However, luckily there are many ways in which these symptoms can be treated so they don’t impair your career.
1. Try to eat a balanced, healthy diet that contains ample amount of vegetables and fruits. Healthy eating can decrease some stress symptoms. Stress can also make you eat too much or too little. Thus planning your healthy meals will help you to eat the right amount of nutritious foods. This can also help prevent stomach upsets.
2. Deal with impending problems strongly. Try to assign limits instead of agreeing to things you cannot handle. This can help you to eradicate negative feelings like irritability or anger caused by taking on too many responsibilities.
3. Make some time for yourself and exercise for at least half an hour each day. This exercise can be as simple as just walking. When you go for a brisk walk, you go outside and get some fresh air instead of isolating yourself and focusing on the job stress alone.
4. Don’t think that you can relieve your job stress through drinking alcohol or taking some prescribed drugs. Doing this can make certain symptoms worse by increasing negative feelings like sadness or anger.
5. Try to use some job stress management techniques regularly to maintain a healthy lifestyle. You can either go for yoga, tai chi or meditation. These techniques will help you to relax and get rid of both physical and mental stress symptoms.

Every so often we need to be reminded there’s sky above our heads.
Or at least I do.
I get so caught up in my to-do lists, my I-wish-they-woulds and my I-really-shoulds that I feel like I’m digging my own personal rut down to the center of the Earth. That’s when I need to remember there’s [...]

However, in order to advance in life and to achieve goals, it is important to realize your ambition and goals first. Once you are clear about what you want to accomplish in life, you can look for ways and means to attain your objectives.
Here are some steps to help you set your objectives in life.
1. Whatever goals you have in mind, put them down on paper. Writing it down indicates the need for action as this makes you more serious about your goals. This provides you a track to think about what you want and what you are willing to do for it. Start off by setting a yearly goal for yourself. For example, if you are currently making $40,000 a year, and have the vision to get a promotion or raise, write down $50,000 on a piece of paper and place it above your desk. This will act as a reminder, motivating you to work harder to achieve your goal.
2. Think about where you want to be in future financially, what will you have to do to reach there, who you want to work for and how many hours you need to work in order to get there. We all work to earn money, and that can be your biggest push factor. Try to set up some realistic financial goals and work towards ways to achieve them.
3. Keep your mind active and working. A good mental state will allow to work better, build better relationships with workers, enabling you to reach your goals more efficiently. Remember that it is of no use to make career goals if you are mentally unhappy. Happiness and peace of mind should be your utmost priority in life, and should be placed at the top of your list.
4. Make up your mind about where you want to be in ten years time and work towards achieving it. Believe in yourself that your hard work will eventually pay off in the future. Allow yourself to dream as a dream is necessary in order to achieve something in life. If you don’t have a dream, you will not have anything to work for or look forward to.
